It depends on its condition, usage, and performance. If your watch is losing or gaining time, feels stiff to wind, it may need servicing. Most mechanical watches require servicing every 3-7 years, quartz typically need every 3-5 years. Hybrid (a blend of mechanical and quartz) need between 3-5 years.

Quartz watches require servicing every 3-5 years, costing about $20–$100 for a battery replacement and CHF 50–CHF 300 for a full service. Examples: Longines Conquest VHP, Citizen Eco-Drive, Casio G-Shock, Seiko Solar, Tissot T-Touch, Cartier quartz.
ETA 2824-2 watches need servicing every 3-5 years, costing between CHF 300 and CHF 600 depending on the model. Examples: Tudor Pelagos, Hamilton Khaki Field, Longines Legend Diver, Certina DS Action, and Sinn 556. The service includes cleaning, lubrication, accuracy checks, and replacing worn parts, with some small parts included. It takes about 3-6 weeks and is done at an Authorized Swiss service center or certified local watchmakers.
